This peanut butter frosting is my favorite frosting of all time. It’s smooth, creamy, thick and perfect for spreading or piping on cakes or cupcakes. I love it because it’s not too sweet and has a great flavor that goes perfectly with chocolate cupcakes.


I have a recipe for peanut butter buttercream frosting in my cookbook, but after making that recipe over and over again I realized there was something missing. I wanted to make this peanut butter frosting even better! So I did some experimenting and came up with a slightly different version. This one is just as easy to make as the original but even better in my opinion!

Peanut Butter Frosting Ingredients:

  • Peanut butter
  • Cream cheese
  • Heavy cream
  • Butter, softened
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla extract

This peanut butter frosting is so easy to make, perfect for frosting cupcakes and decorating cakes. There are only a few ingredients, it's made without powdered sugar and the taste is amazing!

You can use this peanut butter frosting to top anything you like, it would be perfect on chocolate cake, brownies or even peanut butter cookies.

It's a great way to use up any leftover smooth peanut butter you have, but if you don't have any then just grab a jar of your favorite smooth peanut butter.


How to Make Peanut Butter Frosting

Whether you are looking to frost a cake or cupcakes, this is the best peanut butter frosting recipe. It is so easy to make and tastes amazing! It is the perfect peanut butter frosting to top a chocolate cake.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup (125g) Peanut butter
  • 2/3 cup (150g) Cream cheese, room temperature
  • 100ml Heavy cream, cold
  • 5 tablespoons (75g) Butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup (85g) Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Instructions:
  1. In large bowl on medium speed, cream together peanut butter, butter and cream cheese until incorporated and smooth.
  2. Add heavy cream, powdered sugar and whip for 2 minutes.
  3. Transfer to a piping bag and frost your cupcakes as desired.
  4. Or decorate your cake as desired.
